Wolverines

Wolverines are small, stocky carnivorous mammals belonging to the Mustelidae family, which also includes weasels, otters, and badgers. They are known scientifically as Gulo gulo. Wolverines are primarily found in remote Arctic and subarctic regions, as well as in parts of the northern United States and Canada. They have a robust build, with long fur, short legs, and a bushy tail, which helps them navigate through snow and harsh environments.

Wolverines are solitary animals, known for their strength and ferocity relative to their size. They exhibit an omnivorous diet, feeding on a wide range of food sources including carrion, small mammals, birds, and vegetation, adapting their diet based on available resources.

These animals are also known for their impressive ability to cover large areas in search of food, and they are strong enough to take down prey larger than themselves. Wolverines play an important ecological role in their habitats, both as predators and scavengers, contributing to the health of their ecosystems. Due to habitat loss and hunting, wolverine populations face threats, leading to conservation efforts to protect their remaining habitats and populations.
